A Living Love Note –

I stood out in the crowd, but you saw my inner beauty, my substance, when others looked askance

Your honesty, your emotion, your eloquence, pulled me inexorably closer

You disarmed me when you courted me with poetry and love letters

My innocence was no match for your charm, your vulnerability, your twinkling smile, the way your eyes sparkled, and that dimple

We became inseparable and complete, a “We” always before “Me”

You taught me that love wasn’t in the falling, but in the staying

You are my best friend, lover, companion, my savior who assures me everything will be ok as long as we are together, forever

You told me you loved me more than life itself and living without me wasn’t living at all

Knowing our commitment to each other, I could never leave the passion we shared and the rapture we found

Together we shall remain forever, that is our promise to each other

I hung on every word, You knew just what to say

Surfing under the hot sun, skinny dipping by moonlight, we were two broke college kids in our Hawaiian paradise, envisioning a ceremony on the beach

We grew close, while we were apart, our college years with only love to give, we promised to grow and flourish together

My devotion so great, I blindly overlooked your sexual exploration in college
